Edie Olson
MSW, LCSW
President
Edie Olson has served as President of Families First since 1994. A licensed clinical social worker, Edie has more than 30 years of experience addressing our community’s most challenging family issues. As Director of the State Child Welfare Training Project and Faculty member of the IU School of Social Work, she championed child welfare system reform to focus more resources and efforts on preserving families, rather than separating children from their parents and community. She led the movement to provide family-focused services in the homes of troubled families.
Since being at Families First, Edie has been at the forefront of program development to meet the changing needs of families over time.

GAIL ROTHROCK
MSW, ACSW, LCSW, NCG
Senior Vice President
Gail Rothrock has been part of the senior management team at Families First since 1994. A native of Indianapolis, she is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 30 years of practice experience. Prior to joining Families First, Gail was a pediatric social worker with almost 17 years of experience at two local children’s hospitals serving children with chronic illness and disabilities. Gail holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Purdue University and a Masters degree in social work from Indiana University.
Gail became a National Certified Guardian in 2007, and in 2010 earned a Certificate in Aging from the Institute of Geriatric Social Work at Boston University.
MICHELLE GWALTNEY
MA, LMHC, CTC, CEAP
Senior Vice President 
Michelle Gwaltney is Senior Vice President of the Safe Families, and Counseling & Addictions divisions at Families First, and has been with the organization for nine years. Over Michelle’s 20 years of professional experience she has developed expertise in employee assistance programs, domestic violence and chemical dependency. Michelle holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University, and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Training Consultant for Certified Employee Assistance Programs.
